MyBeast is an iPhone and iPod game developed by Dark Codex studios and Tumbleweed Interactive. MyBeast won the best concept award at NGA 2009.
In MyBeast the player assumes the role as a beast trainer and must train a beast so that its in shape to fight in the arena.
Training of the beast can be done actively; the player controls the beast in a series of minigames, or it can be done passively by setting up a training program with different activities. |
As the beast progresses through training its appearance will change according to the areas in which the beast excel; if it’s a tough beast who can take a beating it will become bulkier and develop scales, or if it’s a more clever type of beast who relies more on its intellect, the beasts head will become bigger along with its brain. |
When the player is happy about its beast progress in training he can at any time enter the arena to fight other trainers beasts. In the arena the beast will fight on its own to the best of its abilities. The trainer may order the beast to use one of up to three special abilities during the fight.
If the player and his beast are victorious in the arena he will be rewarded with some credits which he can use in the store. In the store the player can purchase different special abilities and cosmetic items for his beast. |
